Let one number be M

and

Another be N

• Product of M and N is 10,000

=> MN = 10,000 ________(eq 1)

• Also it is said that one number is 16 times (multiply) the other.

=> M = 16N ________(eq 2)

• Put value of M in (eq 1)

=> 16N (N) = 10000

=> 16N² = 10000

=> N² = $\dfrac{10000}{16}$

=> N² = 625

=> N = √625

=> N = ± 25

=> N = +25

» N = -25 (neglected)

• Put value of N in (eq 2)

=> M = 16(25)

=> M = 400
