Hey,

Festivals are occasions when we pay obeisance to our Gods and Goddesses; they are annual or seasonal events of joy and fervour. But, in the midst of the pomp and gaiety, we become inconsiderate towards the environment.

With due reverence to people of different faiths, I must say during or after the festivals we pollute our air, water and the surroundings in several ways. During Diwali, the sound pollution becomes intolerable, especially for the old and the infirm. By immersing idols, once the many Pujas are over, we pollute the Ganges, Yamuna and other rivers with the colour of the idols and a few other
accompaniments. The smoke released into the atmosphere, when we burst crackers, causes a lot of harm, especially to those who suffer from lung or heart diseases.

We should make an effort to enjoy our festivals by taking into note the environmental harms that some of our actions cause and, accordingly, try to take suitable remedial measures.

HOPE IT HELPS YOU:-))
