Methyl Orange indicator and Phenolpthalein are both acid - base indicators.
NEUTRAL COLOURS of
> Methyl Orange - Orange
> Phenolpthalein - Colourless
The basic differences between the both are -
• Methyl Orange changes to RED colour in ACIDIC MEDIUM whereas Phenolpthalein remains COLOURLESS in ACIDIC MEDIUM.
• Methyl Orange changes to YELLOW colour in BASIC MEDIUM whereas Phenolpthalein changes to PINK colour in BASIC MEDIUM.
