Michelle wants to plant daisies to carnations in the ratio 4:2.
Let no of daisies be x

daisies /carnations = 4/2
daisies / total ratio = x/ total(42)
4/ (4+2) = x/42

4/6 = x/42
4 x 42 = 6x
168 /6 = x
28 = x

She should palnt 28 daisies.

Hope this helps!
