Miguel asked Sandra to make 90 cookies for his party. Sandra needs 1/4 cup of sugar to make 15 cookies. She incorrectly calculated the amount of sugar she will need.

To find :   the amount of sugar she will need to make 90 cookies

Solution:

Sandra needs 1/4 cup of sugar to make 15 cookies

Amount of sugar needed for 15 Cookies =  1/4  Cup

To find Amount of sugar for 1 cookie Sandra was supposed to divide by 15 but she multiplied by 15  

Amount of sugar needed for 1  Cookies =  (1/4 )/15  Cup

=> Amount of sugar needed for 1  Cookies = 1/60 cup

Amount of sugar needed for 90  Cookies = 90 * 1/60 cup

= 3/2

= 1.5 cups

1.5 cups Sugar amount needed to make 90 cookies
