In 1953,Harold Urey and Stanley Miller, an American scientists created similar conditions in a laboratory scale. They created electric discharge in a closed flask containing CH 4, H2, NH3 and water vapour at 800° C.

The electric sparks simulates a lightning storm, energy from that spark activates the chemical reaction which might have took place in the atmosphere of early earth.

They observed the formation of amino acids. In similar experiments others observed, formation of sugars, nitrogen bases, pigment and fats.

The first organic molecules formed about 4 billion years ago and it all happened when lightning sparked chemical reactions in Earth's early atmosphere.
