The Model Millionaire by Oscar Wild is an intriguing and absorbing story. The title of the story is wonderfully relevant and apt. The story is about a millionaire, Baron Hausberg, who is not only a model by profession, but also is a perfect model of a great character. He helps Hughie Erskine by helping him financially. Thus the title is aptly justified.
In this famous and heart-touching story, we find Hughie is a kind human being. He is in love with Laura. He wants to marry her but he does not have enough money. One day he visits his friend, Alan Trevor who is a painter and finds an old beggar who is standing as model for his new painting. Pitying him he gives him some money. In reality that beggar is a millionaire.
Impressed by Hughie's generosity he helps him financially to get married to Laura.
Thus Baron Hausberg was not only a model who got his portrait made, but also a model millionaire as his heart was full of kindness and generosity.
