2. The young brothers are living a hard life, working all types of menial jobs such as, selling fruit, newspapers, shoe-shining, running errands, as guides, etc. They are working for the sole purpose of providing for their sister's treatment. Their sacrificing nature is worth emulation. The author in them sees the hope of a more peaceful world in which people will dare to live like them.
