In the new jungle book (2016), when Mowgley enters or when he is in the current shot or scene the music generally becomes faster and more upbeat. This is because he is a young character entering a new adventure and he is positive and has lots of energy and is maybe a little bit naive. We can compare this to when an older character like Bagheera walks in and the music slows down and becomes more of a lower tone. This suggests that he is more experience and wise and he is less positive and is more careful about how he goes about his business.

Mowgley is generally treated as a child because of how young and in experienced he is in the jungle compared to the animals that are already there. Whereas the older characters are treated with a lot more respect and they are put on a pedestal. The older characters aren't belittled as much as Mowgley is.
