In the poem, 'Mirror' by Sylvia Plath is a poem about a woman who struggles with her loss of beauty. She used to flatter herself with lies of candlelight and moonlight. She wanted an unadulterated reflection of self from the mirror. However, it caused her discomfort in the form of agitation of hands and tears. While woman analyses herself she becomes aware of the interior and exterior lives.  In other words, she compares her true inner self with a false outer self.
