Generally, I hate this kind of question because there are so many possible solutions if it does not give out long enough list like 10 numbers.
People can always find different solutions and explain them with different type of formulas.
For example, for this question,
5, 14, 36, 76,
You can explain it by:
5 * 1, 7 * 2, 12 * 3, 19 * 4, ...
Then, looking at 5, 7, 12, 19, next one can be (12 + 19) * 5 = 155.
Or, you can explain it by:
1^3 + 4, 2^3 + 6, 3^3 + 9, 4^3 + 12, ...
1^3 + 2*2, 2^3 + 2*3, 3^3 + 3*3, 4^3 + 3*4, ...
So, next one will 5^3 + 4*4=141.
