Mission Indradhanush commenced under the Union Health Minister  J. P. Nadda on 25th December 2014.

The primary motive of this program was to vaccinate all children under the age of 2 years by 2020 who were partially or unvaccinated  and also pregnant women against diseases . These vaccination were provided free of cost to fight against deadly diseases like Diphtheria,Tetanus,Whooping cough,Measles,Polio,Tuberculosis,Hepatitis B,Pneumonia,Japanese encephalitis, Haemophilus influenza type B,Rotavirus,IPV and Rubella.
