Mixture of volatile components A and B has total vapour pressure (in torr) P = 254 – 119 XA where XA is mole fraction of A in mixture. Hence Image not present and Image not present are (in torr) :-
(1) 254, 119
(2) 119, 254
(3) 135, 254
(4) 154, 119il
plz explain in deta

Answer:

Explanation:

Given equation is showing total pressure.

Lets take mole fraction of A as 1.. then total pressure is equal to vapour pressure of A.

P= 254-119(1)

P = 135 .. its nothing but A vapour pressure..

Now apply similar for B..

P= 254-119(1-XB)

P=254-119-119XB

When XB is 1

Then P = 254

When XB is 1.. total pressure is equal to pressure of B..

So answer is option 3
