1905 - Partition of Bengal and Swadeshi movement launched to protest against Independence.

1906 - Formation of Muslim League in Dhaka.

1907 - Split between the moderates and the radicals within the Indian National Congress at its Surat session.

1911 - Partition of Bengal annulled to create the presidency of Bengal.

1915 - Mahatma Gandhi returned to India after leading a movement for the rights of the people of Indian Origin,against the racist White regime of South Africa.

1919 - Rowlatt Act evoked protest.

1920 - The non cooperation movement started by Mahatma Gandhi along with the khilafat movement by some prominent Muslim leaders.

1928 - Simon commission appointed to study the impacts of constitutional reforms in India was boycotted by all parties.

1930 - Salt satyagraha led by Mahatma Gandhi.

1947 - India got independence with partition.
