Keshab Chandra Nag:

Keshab Chandra Nag began his academic career in the Bengali Medium School in his Gurap village. That was the only school in Gurap at the time. He transferred to Bhastara Yojneshshar Uccha Vidyalaya (Yojneshshar High School), which is three miles from his village, in Class VII. Every day, he set out on foot early in the morning to get to school and returned home in the late afternoon.

He was accepted to Kishenganj High School in Class IX. He received a First Class in the admission exam in 1912 and enrolled in the Science programme at Kolkata's Ripon College (now Surendranath College). He earned a First Class on the I.Sc test in 1914. After that, he was forced to stop his school and begin working because of a severe financial difficulty.
