Modern media are not independent because of these reasons:

• The control that the government has on the media.
• The government also prevents a news item, scenes from a movie or the lyrics of a song from being shared with a larger public.
• Media also sets the agenda,at times focus extensively on a particular issue or story which they ignore some crucial issues which might demand our attention.
