For doing smart study we must know about the mind map of the chapter before reading it like you should know about the topics and it's parts this will make you more comfortable with the chapter to understand it properly.
You can also give time to your subjects according to you time table so that you can achieve good in all. Whenever you found something important inside you book then you should highlight it or mark more information beside it with pencil.

- regular revision

- rather than mugging up, understand the context

- Take regular breaks

- test yourself regularly

- try to get engaged in group study
