given

Mohan purchased bike spend 400rupees

He sold bike for 5800 in which he got 16% profit

Profit = 16÷100*5800 = Rs. 928.

Cost price = Selling price - discount

= 5800 - 928

= Rs.4872.

The cost price of bike that mohan purchased is Rs.4872.

He also pay Rs.400 for repairing so,

4872 + 400 = Rs.5272

Answer:

Let the cost price of bike is x

Then he spend 400 Rs. for repair the bike.

So total cost price is x+400

C. P= 100/ 100+gain% *S. P

x+400=100/100+16%*5800

x+400=100/166*5800

x+400=5000

x=5000-400

x=4600

Hence Mohan purchased bike in Rs.4600
