Heya mate!!

Let his original salary be x

x \times \frac{120}{100} \times \frac{80}{100} = 7200 \\ x = 7200 \times \frac{100}{120} \times \frac{100}{80} \\ x = 7500

Hope it helps u dear✌️✌️

His original salary was 7500 unit.

Explanation:

Let, Mohan's original salary be, 'n'.

20% of n = (n × 20/100)

              = n/5

∴ When his salary had increased by 20% then it had become_

(n+n/5)

= (5n+n)/5 [∵ The L.C.M. is 5.]

= 6n/5

20% of 6n/5 = (6n/5) × (20/100)

                    = 6n/25

∴ When his salary was reduced by 20% then it had become_

(6n/5) - (6n/25)

= (30n - 6n)/25 [∵ The L.C.M. is 25]

= 24n/25

∴ His present salary is 24n/25

So, according to the problem_

24n/25 = 7200

⇒ 24n = (7200×25)

⇒ n = (180000/24)

⇒ n = 7500 unit.

∴ His original salary was 7500 unit.
