Mohan wants to buy a trapezium shaped field. It's side along the river if parallel to & twice the side along the river. If the area of this field is 10500 sq.meter & the Perpendicular distance between the two parallel sides is 100m , find the length of the side along the river.

Answer:
Let the length of the field along the road be l m. Hence, the length of the field along the river will be 2l m.
Area of trapezium = 1/2(Sum of parallel sides) (Distance between the parallel sides)
10500m*2= 1/2(l+2l)(100m)
105m=3l/2
l=70m
Thus, length of the field along the river = (2 × 70) m = 140 m
