Hey Friend,
Moist air and acidic gases lead to corrosion if they come in contact with metals!
The reaction of metals with moist air or acids leads to the formation of a stable coating which is mainly oxide, hydroxide or sulphide.
4Fe + 3O2 + 6H2O ---> 4Fe(OH)3
Hope it helps!
