There is great diversity of the climatic conditions in India due to different locations and land relief patterns. However, the advent of monsoons in our country represent a unifying factor.
1. Several festivals, are associated with monsoon, for example celebration of teej festival , welcoming the arrival of monsoonal rainfall in India.
2. The monsoonal rainfall provides water for agricultural activities, serving as a big relief for our farmers.
3. Monsoon gives relief from the scorching heat. The entire life of the Indian people revolves around the monsoon.
Such a unity is contributed by the following factors:
a. Himalayas- They act as natural barriers to the extremely cold winds blowing from Central Asia and enables North India to have more or less uniform temperatures.They also act as a barrier to the south west monsoon in summer and precipitates heavy rain on the country
b. Seasonal Rhythm- prevailing throughout the country.
c. Precipitation- The annual rainfall which every part of the country faces.
