Solution :

Monte Carlo is offering a summer discount of 20% on all the sweaters.

Ram buys sweaters which cost him Rs. 3000/- and then resold them in his shop at a discount of 10% on the market price.

We have to find the total profit earned by him.

Monte Carlo is offering a summer discount of 20% on all the sweaters.

It cost Ram, Rs. 3000 to buy them.

So, let us first find the original price of the sweaters.

80% of Original Price = Rs. 3000

>> Original Price = Rs. 3000 × 100/80

= Rs. 3750

Now, he resells at a discount of 10% on the market price

Price at which the sweaters are sold -

>> 90% of 3750

>> Rs. 3375

Profit earned = Rs. 3375 - Rs. 3000

= Rs. 375

Answer : The total profit earned by him is 375 inr.

Given :-

Monte Carlo is offering a summer discount of 20% on all the sweaters. Ram buys sweaters which cost him Rs. 3000/- and then resold them in his shop at a discount of 10% on the market price

To Find :-

Profit earned

Solution :-

We know that

% of original price = 100 - 20

% of original price = 80%

Now,

Let the original price be x

80% of x = 3000

80/100 × x = 3000

4/5 × x = 3000

x = 3000 × 5/4

x = 750 × 5

x = Rs. 3750

Now

Again,

% of original price = 100 - 10

% of original price = 90%

Finding SP

90% of 3750 = SP

90/100 × 3750 = SP

9/1 × 375 = SP

3375 = SP

Profit = SP - CP

Profit = 3375 - 3000

Profit = 375
