Answer:
An electric motor is rotating device which converts electrical energy into mechanical energy. Every electric model has the shaft which rotate continuously when current is passed into it. It is used in electrical fan washing machine mixture ex. An electric motor works on direct current (DC) that why it is called DC motor.
Principle of a motor
A motor work on the principle that when a rectangular coil is placed in a magnetic field and current is passed through it, a force act on the coil which rotate it continuously when the coil rotate it continuously the shaft attached to it also rotate. In the electrical energy supplied to motor is converted into the mechanical energy.
Electric generator convert mechanical energy into electrical energy. It is the machine for producing electric current or electricity, for example small generator used on bicycle dynamo a small generator is called dynamo.
principles of electric generator
It is based on principle of Electromagnet introduction electric generator work on principle that when a straight conductor is moved in a magnetic field, the current is included in the conductor. In an electric generator a rectangular coil is made to rotate rapidly in magnetic field between poles of magnet. When coil rotate it cuts the magnetic field lines due to which a current is produced in the coil.
Electric generator are of two types
Alternating current generator
Direct current generator
