Explanation:
The genus Atriplex (Family Chenopodiaceae), saltbush, is worldwide in saline shoreline and inland habitats. On the surfaces of the leaf are vesiculated trichomes (hairs). Each trichome has a stalk and a balloon-like tip, the bladder cell. Species of Atriplex are excluders.
