because this is their adaptation to overcome the condition of their surroundings.
Basically the algae is one of the first things to be formed in plant Kingdom.

moss plant do not have lignin in any of their cells which provide strength to a plant otherthen this they also lack xylem vessels for transportation of water and other necessary minerals due to which photosynthetic do not occur in these plants resulting in short growth
