Mosses and lichens are some of the most commonly found organisms on earth. Lichens are formed from a fungus and algae growing together, and they are the first organisms to colonise bare rocks, growing so deep into their cores that they keep breaking down till they become soil. Mosses on the other hand are low growing plants with no real roots, are usually green in colour, and are soft to the touch. Mosses are mostly found in wet, damp, and shady places, whereas lichens are found almost everywhere all over the world, in possibly every kind of environment. Which type of vegetation or biome do mosses and lichens belong to? *

a)temperate grasslands

b)tundra biome

c)tropical rainforests
