C. China is the answer.

Most immigrants who entered the United States through Angel Island were from China.

This is from first half of 20th century in American history. Angel Island was an immigration station located in San Francisco Bay, operated from January 21, 1910 to November 5, 1940. During the period of  30 years, this was the point of entry for approximately 175,000 Chinese immigrants who came to the United States.
