most of the rivers in south India flow into the Bay of Bengal

A few rivers like the mahanadi flow westward so they drain into d bay of Bengal..A few rivers like narmada and tapi flow through a rift valley with a different gradient(direction of slope)..so they drain into d bay of Bengal..hope it helps...
