Most of the substances that we come across in our daily life are
mixtures of two or more than two pure substances. These may be true
solutions, suspensions or colloids. We adopt different methods to get
individual components from these mixtures. Two immiscible Liquids
can be easily separated with the help of separating funnel while
miscible Liquids can be separated by distillation. In some cases, the
process of simple distillation cannot be used and we use fractional
distillation method. One of thetechnical application of fractional
distillation is to separate different fractions of crude oil in petroleum
industry.
Ques-
A) A mixture of two miscible Liquids whose boiling points differ by less than 25 k can be separated by the process called _______
B) how will you separate a mixture of water and kerosene
C) which out of true solution, suspension and colloid is/are stable?
D) name the technique used to separate pigments from natural colours
