motion is relative. actually we can't say clearly whether a body is in motion or not until we observe it with a reference point. assume that 2 persons and moving on the bus and there is it tree outside the bus beside the road. according to the first person, the other person sitting with him in the bus is not in motion. the second person sitting in the bus is not in motion with respect to the first person. but the tree outside seems to be moving from the view of the first person. thus the tree is in motion with respect to the first person.
hence, we can say that motion is relative quantity
