Let x be the distance between the two town.

Find the time taken for his journey from Town A to Town B

Time = Distance ÷ speed

Time = x ÷ 54

Time = x/54 hours

Find the time taken for his journey from Town B to Town A

Time = Distance ÷ speed

Time = x ÷ 60

Time = x/60 hours

Solve x:

Given that the total time taken is 9 1/2 hours

x/54 + x/60 = 9 1/2

(60x + 54x) /(54 x 60) = 19/2

114x / 3240 = 19/2

114 x = 19/2 x 3240

114x = 39780

x = 270 km

Answer: The distance between the two town is 270 km

Answer: x= 63

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the speed of one motorcycle1 be x.

Then motorcycle2 will be x+7 ((7 kmph faster))

AFTER TWO HOURS

Motorcycle1: 2×x

Motorcycle2: 2×x+7

2x + 2(x+7)+ 34 =300

2x + 2x+14 + 34=300

4x + 48 =300

4x= 300- 48

4x= 252

x= 252÷4

x= 63

Therefore motorcycle1 is at a speed of 63kmph while motorcycle2 is at a speed of 63+7=70 kmph.
