Mr kumar went to shopping with his family to a mall. Mrs. Kumar bought a saree got rs. 12,500 clothes for the kids for rs. 9,280 and a mobile for mr. Kumar for rs. 32,638. If the vat charged on their purchases is 7.5 percent then what is the total amount that Mr. Kumar has paid ?

Cost of the saree bought by Mrs. Kumar = 12,500 rupees

Cost of the clothes for kids = 9,280 rupees

Cost of the mobile for Mr. Kumar = 32,638

Total cost = 12,500 + 9,280 + 32,638 = 54,418

If the VAT is for 7.5 per cent of the total amount’7.5 per cent of 54,418 = 4081.35

Total amount paid by Mr. Kumar = 54418 + 4081.35 = 58,499.35 rupees
