\sf\large\underline\blue{Given:}

\sf{\implies The\:cost\: price\:_{(video\:set)}=24000}

\sf{\implies The\:cost\: price\:_{(Tv\:set)}=12500}

\sf\large\underline\blue{To\: Find:}

Total gain or loss percentage on whole=?

\sf\large\underline\blue{Solution:}

To profit or loss percent ,at first we have to calculate selling price of video set and Tv set as per the given clue in the question. After that we have to find total sum of cost price of both set then calculate total sum of selling price of both set ,at by applying formula to calculate gain or loss percent:]

\sf\small\underline\green{Calculation\:for\: video\:set:}

  • Here, CP=24000 L%=10

\tt{\implies SP=\dfrac{100-L\%}{100}*CP}

\tt{\implies SP=\dfrac{100-10}{100}*24000}

\tt{\implies SP=\dfrac{90}{100}*24000}

\tt{\implies SP=90*240}

\tt{\implies SP=Rs.21600}

\sf\small\underline\green{Calculation\:for\: Tv\:set:}

Here, CP=12500 G%=25

\tt{\implies SP=\dfrac{100+G\%}{100}*CP}

\tt{\implies SP=\dfrac{100+25}{100}*12500}

\tt{\implies SP=\dfrac{125}{100}*12500}

\tt{\implies SP=125*125}

\tt{\implies SP=Rs.15625}

  • Now calculate total CP and SP:]

\tt{\implies Total\:_{(SP)}=15625+21600}

\tt{\implies Total\:_{(SP)}=Rs.37225}

\tt{\implies Total\:_{(CP)}=24000+12500}

\tt{\implies Total\:_{(CP)}=Rs.36500}

  • By calculating we notice here that SP is greater then CP ,so we have profit here:]

\tt\green{\implies P\%=\dfrac{SP-CP}{CP}*100}}

\tt{\implies P\%=\dfrac{37225-36500}{36500}*100}}

\tt{\implies P\%=\dfrac{725}{36500}*100}}

\tt{\implies P\%=\dfrac{72500}{36500}}

\tt{\implies P\%=1.98}

\sf\large{Hence,}

  • Mr Mehta got profit of 1.98%
