lets calculate daughters property

$\frac{1}{4} of 240000 \\ = \frac{1}{4} \times 240000 \\ = \frac{1 \times 240000}{4} \\ = \frac{240000}{4} \\ = \frac{60000}{1} = 60000rupees$

lets calculate total property received by his children

$60000 + 40000 = 100000rupees$

his totsl property was Rs. 2,40,000.

now it says that after giving money to his children leftovers was of wife. so to find leftover we need to subtract lets do it.

$240000 - 100000 = 140,000rupees$

the leftover propert of wife is 140,000 rupees
