Mr. Wilk is a high school math teacher whose salaryis $33,660 for this school year, which has 180 days.In Mr. Wilk’s school district, substitute teachers are paid $85 per day. If Mr. Walker takes a day off without payand a substitute teacher is paid to teach his classes. How much less does the school district pay in salary by payinga substitute teacher instead of Mr. Wilk for this particukar day?

     Salary of Mr Wilk for 180 days = $33,600
   therefore ,
               Salary of Mr Wilk for 1 day = $33600/180 =$187
   Salary of substitute teacher for 1 day = $85
  Therefore ,
           Less amount paid by School when Mr wilk is off for 1 day and substitute teacher teaches his classes = $187 - $85
                                         = $102

For 180 days the teacher is paid $33660
So for each day he is paid=$33660/180=$187

A substitute teacher will be paid $85 /day

So the School district will pay $187-$85 less
