Sp without vat = sp - vat % of sp

Discount amount = Mp - d% of Mp

Mp = sp + d % of mp

SOLUTION -

Sp with vat = Rs 16950

vat = 13 %

Than,

sp without vat = 16950 - ( 13 / 100 × 16950 )

= 16950 - 2203.5

= 14746.5

Now,

Sp = 14746.5

Discount = 25 %

then,

Mp = sp + d% of mp

let, mp = x

so,

x = 14746.5 + ( 25 / 100 × x)

x = 14746.5 + 25x/100

100x = (1474650 + 25x)

75x = 1474650

x= 19662

Now,

Discount amount = D% of Mp

= 25 % of 19662

= ( 25 × 19662) / 100

= 491550/100

=4915.5

Hence, discount amount = 4915.5 answer
