Mrs. Johnson baked 2 dozen cookies. Two-thirds of the cookies were oatmeal. How many oatmeal cookies did Mrs. Johnson bake?

Total number of cookies made by Mrs. Johnson

= 2 × 12 = 24 cookies

SOLUTION:

2/3 of the total number of cookies were oatmeal

I.e, Number of oatmeal cookies = 2/3 × 24

= 2 × 8

= 16
