mx + ny = m² - n² ..........(1)

nx + my = 0 ..........(2)

multiplying n with equation (1) and m with equation (2),

mnx + n²y = m²n - n³ ..........(1)

mnx + m²y = 0 ............(2)

(n² - m²)y = n(m² - n²) => y = -n

put y = -n in equation (1),

mx - n² = m² - n² => x = m

so, (x + y) = m - n

hence, value of (x + y) is (m - n)
