My clean India is a noble mission that encourages the participation
of all, especially the younger people, to develop being community
leadership skills and creating a pathway for personal development as
tomorrows leaders.
HERE ARE a few words to get you started in working with ‘My Clean
India’ (MCI) and help you understand who we are, what it can do to help
you, or how you can easily help your community.
In Focus
Basically we are a network of people committed to helping make our place ‘cleaner’, which off course means less litter and rubbish - less of that stuff that shouldn’t be there. But MCI also stands for cleaner air, cleaner water, cleaner soil, and even a cleaner mind. We stand for removing stuff that makes our place (and ourselves) less of a prosperous and joyful place to live. However, you care to interpret cleanliness, be it material cleanliness (ie litter), cleanliness of the air, water or soil, cleanliness of oneself, of one’s spirit and in business and personal relationships (ie an absence of corruption, ie integrity), cleanlinessis associated with prosperity. MCI will help you achieve cleanlinessas your partner.
It is not always understood we can influence our place simply and effectively with little effort. Perhaps you may already know this, but in our experience this is not always obvious to others and so here is your opportunity to create awareness, share insights and by that inspire others into action. We do not believe in pushing people into action, ie making requests to do something as a civic duty, instead we are about creating space for action - to help people see opportunities for themselves and by that to be inspired to take action for themselves. Creating space is harder, but longer lasting and far more satisfying for all.
The aim of MCI is to produce the conditions for a more prosperous and beautiful environment and to work with you to achieve this. We publicly state it as to create prosperity and beauty through communitybecause we know community participation is a powerful way to create prosperity and a beautiful environment.
As you will discover, promoting cleanliness is a way to express and advance leadership, and so whatever you do, your efforts will extend you into making you a more empowered person, which includes leadership skills that can inspire others into action. So for example, if you are a student, you will become a more employable having evolved your interpersonal skills. You are in good company as you can see from our membership and we are about advancing leadership skills.
As to how we work, MCI will provide you primarily with intellectual and some material resources; it will share experiences and acknowledge publicly people who take action in the spirit of the Aims of MCI. Participants are joining a pan-India network that facilitates the achievement of the ambitions of others and acknowledgesthose that take action.
It is important to realise that MCI is non-hierarchical, that is there is no structure as such – it is simply people with a common ideal and vision.
Naturally there has to be a central management system and that has its structure and relationships. Its central management unit is a central office with its state and town offices called Regional Units (RU) as a business system operating with cost recovery while a not-for-profit Society. Outside of its management, MCI is simply people who operate in the spirit of MCI, with integrity, transparency and in some way to enhance the cleanliness and beauty of the environment.
