My Early Morning Walk. Walking is increasingly being prescribed by doctors for patients with

diabetes, hypertension, and several other diseases because this is an

exercise which everyone can do and is beneficial too. The best time to

go for a walk is early in the morning as it is the best time for exercise.

I usually go for a walk with my grandparents. It is amazing in the

morning when there is fresh air and the chirping of the birds can easily

be heard. The whole town looks so different. There are a couple of

people in track suits and sports shoes walking briskly along and there

are groups of elderly men gossiping and laughing among themselves.

As we proceed on our way we see cows, donkeys and a group of dogs

which appear to be a gang. Initially these dogs used to bark at us, but

now they have become friendly. My grandmother carries chapatis for

the dogs and cows that we meet on the way; she also carries grains for

the pigeons, parrots, and crows in the park. She sits on a bench and it

is a pleasure to see all the birds crowding around her for their

breakfast. Apart from these birds we also see sparrows, the seven

sisters and some unusual birds which I don't recognize. My grandfather has promised to buy me a book on Indian birds for my

next birthday.

The park that we go to is landscaped with ups and downs. It has trees

of many varieties like neem, Ashoka and even some date palms. On the

other side of the path are flower beds. In March and April these flowers

bloom in different shapes, colours and smells. I marvel at the richness

that God has provided us with. When the flowers are in bloom, I

breathe deeply to inhale the wonderful fragrances.

In the middle of the park there is a hollowed-out space which is well

utilized by young boys who play cricket. We children hate to go to

school when it is too hot or cold but no adverse weather can stop us

from playing our favourite game of ‘Cricket’. Some people form a group

to do yoga in this ground. Sometimes my grandparents also join them

while I play badminton with my friends. The most interesting sight:

however, is a group of men and women who have formed a ‘laughter

club’. They laugh so loudly it becomes infectious. All the people around

also laugh or at least smile.

By the time we return from our walk, many small tea stalls and sweet

meat sellers get the shops open making fresh 'sweets' and 'eatables’.

We stop at my favourite sweet shop and have sweet and hot milk. This

is why I love my morning walks. 6 .The park can be described as a ‘happy place’ -Elucidate/Explain.

Answer:

Walking can improve your health and wellbeing, and can help you to live independently for longer.

Exercise doesn’t have to be strenuous; a moderate amount of activity can bring you all the benefits of exercise. You can choose to walk at a steady pace for a longer period of time, or you can have shorter bursts of more strenuous walking, either quickly or up hills or stairs.

Talk to your doctor or allied health professional if you have health conditions or haven’t been active for a while. And make sure you have everything you need, especially a comfortable pair of shoes.
