They sacrifice everything for the safety of their children. Here the mother was thankful to God for sparing her children from the scorpion’s bite. She did not blame Him for letting the scorpion bite her.

This line indicates that the poet’s mother truly
cared for her children. She was selfless in her love for them. When the
scorpion stung her, she was grateful to the Almighty that it did not hurt the
children. The hurt because of the sting did not the least bit matter to her.
She would have been pulled down only if the scorpion stung one of her children.
The mother could not bear to see the pain and agony of her children.
