Age of Son = 12 years

Age of mother = 3 times of son's age

To find mother's age we'll multiply 3 with son's age i.e 12

So, Mothers age = 3 × 12 = 36 years

Difference between their ages = 36 - 12 = 24 years.

So, there will be 24 years of age difference between mother and son always.

Mother's age now(given) = 45

Son's age now = 45 - 24 = 21

Son's age 5 years ago = 21 - 5 = 16

So, son's age 5 years before was 16 years.

Son's age =12

Father's age =12 times 3

=36

Now his age =45

12=36

? =45

45-36= 9

12+9=21

Son's age 21 if father's age 45

Asking son's 5years ago age

Therefore 21-5=16

Son's age=16
