My vision for a cleaner and greener India
Answers
India has rich and vast resources. It has a forest cover of 21.2% and has rich biodiversity. But in the last few decades, because commercialization an development the forest cover is reducing gradually and there has been a threatening increase in pollution levels.
I love my country and I envision a cleaner and greener country in the next one decade in the following ways:
a) Indian cities have very poor garbage disposal system. Though the municipalities have a system in place, people's lack of civic sense is poor. People should be responsible in the disposal of waste and segregation.
b) Swach Bharat campaign should be taken seriously by people and not litter every where. Open defecation has to completely stop.
c) A stringent rule needs to be in place to ensure that trees are not cut during developmental activities.
d) Reforestation should be done where mining activities are carried on to compensate for the lost greenery.
e) Places of tourist importance should be given additional funds inorder to boost tourism by making it cleaner and greener.
The above can make my country a cleaner and greener India.
A greener and cleaner india is a vision of mine. Planting more trees and reducing the amount of waste that is produced by every individual on a daily basis will help in getting to that goal much faster.
In India, plastic bags are widely used in a number of shops which is quite detrimental to the environment. Using jute bags instead of plastic bags is a more sustainable idea.
Open defacation and urination should also be stopped and newer public washrooms should be constructed.
