My  favorite musical is « Mozart, l'opera Rock »("Mozart, the rock opera") : the show mixes pop-rock compositions and Mozart's music.

The songs are not  syrupy, the costumes are gorgeous and it's got great scenery (it was directed by Olivier Dahan, the director of "la vie en rose")
