Given :

  • Distance (s) = 0.5 m
  • Force (F) = 150 N

To Find :

  • Potential Energy Gained

Solution :

We are given Force with which the archer pulls an arrow from her bow, and also the distance stretching is 0.5 m.

Here, work done is stored as Potential Energy

\implies \sf{Work \: Done \: = \: Potential \: Energy} \\ \\ \implies \sf{P.E \: = \: Work \: Done \: = \: F.s} \\ \\ \implies \sf{P.E \: = \: F.s}

Where,

  • P.E is Potential Energy
  • F is Force with which arrow is pulled from now
  • s is distance

\implies \sf{P.E \: = \: 150 \: \times \: 0.5} \\ \\ \implies \sf{P.E \: = \: 75}

\therefore Potential Energy gained is 75 Joules
