Given :- In Diwali, a grocer sells dry fruits at their cost price as a festival-incentive, but uses a faulty weight of 950 gm or one kg. Find the profit he makes if a customer

purchases 200 kgs of dryfruits for Rs. 400 per kg.

a) Rs. 2100

b) Rs. 3200

c) Rs. 4120

d) Rs. 4000

Answer :-

→ Actual weight = 1kg = 1000 gm

→ Grocer uses = 950 gm .

so,

→ Profit he makes per kg = 1000 - 950 = 50 gm.

now,

→ Rate of dryfruits = Rs.400 / kg

→ Total dryfruits purchases by customer = 200 kg.

then,

→ Profit he makes on 200kg = 200 * 50 = 10000 gm = 10 kg.

therefore,

→ Total profit = 10 * 400 = Rs.4000 (D) (Ans.)
