Recently, during the last decade or so, there has been a spurt in Old Age Homes because grown-ups, at times, fail to realize their responsibilities towards their parents and send them to Old Age Homes for living there.
It is such a pity that due to small domestic quarrels or a mismatch between the daughter-in-law and a mother-in-law, the older members have to leave home and live in an unknown environment.
It is imperative that we, as a society, come forward and try to educate all stakeholders regarding it. We should be a bit more patient and accommodating towards the needs of elder members of our family so that they can live with dignity in their own homes.
After all, they are the ones due to whom we are enjoying the fruits of today. If we do not pay attention to them, someday even our own children may do the same to us and we may not like their attitude at that time.
