nails are dead but they grow. Explain

Nails are also called as the waste product in our body but still they grow because nails are the only layer which protects the skin of the fingers by forming around it. So it is good to have nails but not good to grow them.

Not all of the nails are not dead cells.

For nails, the growing part is under the skin at the nail's proximal end under the epidermis, which is the only living part of a nail.
