Monoculture is cultivation of only one crop in a particular piece of land in all seasons. This results in the depletion of soil fertility gradually. The crop in due course of time develops resistance to pest and diseases so it turns prone and susceptible to newer attacks. This also results in disturbance of the habitat or the natural ecosystem as the land is prepared initially for the agricultural use.
Teak and Pine are very prominent in monoculture.

Mono mean one culture mean maintain so monoculture is the agricultural testing, checking, practicing or growing of a single plant, crop, variety or breed at a time in a field or farming area. It is most widely used in both organic and industrial farming and has shown great efficiency in cultivation and harvest.
Pine, potato, teak and pine etc are grown in monoculture because they yield greatly and they are resistant to certain common diseases.
